Guess The Scary Movie🔪😱 (EASY – IMPOSSIBLE)| Horror Film Trivia| Halloween, Saw, M3GAN| Movie Quiz

Design is fabulous. As others have mentioned, proofreading for typographical errors is lacking but not enough to be a big deal (but surprising nonetheless).
Difficulty of the questions is rather high, and if you want to do well in this game you better have a knack for character names.
For the real horror enthusiast it’s a unique gift.

Questions are detailed, but there are a few average questions that are easy enough to answer to keep the game going.

This game is really good, but it relies on tons of questions on things that really aren’t horror. Tons of questions about stuff like Sharknado, or comic books, and things of that nature shouldn’t be in the questions. There are also lots of questions about stuff like Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I know nothing of this stuff, so I can’t answer any questions on the non-horror content. Now, as far as the actual horror content goes, the questions are deeeeeeeeep and varied. The real questions are great for horror fans, and some are extremely hard.
The board is standard Trivial Pursuit stuff, but you get special markers and player tokens that are pretty cool. I would give this five stars if it actually stuck to “real” horror content.

Questions are outdated/hard

Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2020

I’m giving this 5 stars but in all candor, it hasn’t been too popular with my friends. Quite honestly, it’s HARD! I knew I’d do a little better than my friends, which I did, but I was flailing about myself and my friends started actually getting angry. “You should return this. This game is stupid. No one knows all this stuff!” That was an actual quote and think of the irony. “The game is stupid” and “No one knows this stuff”. Now, I liked the difficulty level so I’m completely satisfied. But I don’t know if I’ll ever get to play the game again. No one wants to play with me.

This game is cute but even for a family that has watched a huge amount of horror movies we could not answer the questions. Wasn’t worth the cost.

If you are a hard-core fan of horror movies an board games this is a must. The questions range from easy to extremely difficult. I loved playing this with my friends. They need a game like this for sci-fi fans.

It was a really fun game to play. I thought I knew my horror but this game was more difficult than expected. It has a lot from B rated movies but it’s still fun to play. Learned some stuff and found some other movies to watch.

Sloppy product

While the range of trivia questions is completely acceptable and it manages to cover various eras and mediums of horror, there’s a distinct lack of quality control in the cards. A significant number of the questions and answers have typos, some of which lead to them being incorrect (EG misspelling a character’s name or claiming a film is from 1854 instead of 1954), some of them are simply wrong about the information they convey (at least one question was based on an unsubstantiated rumor they clearly got off wikipedia, and many more just got general facts wrong), some questions very needlessly spoil crucial plot points in a film or book despite the question having nothing to do with that plot point, many questions have awkward grammar that makes the question difficult to understand, and one question is on two cards but phrased differently. It’s clear a bunch of different people were hired to create the questions and answers and didn’t communicate with each other, and no one was too bothered to supervise their work.
There’s also a clear bias in the TV-related questions towards very modern young adult programming that features supernatural creatures, which makes me think one of the people working on this did not want to do any research outside of reading wikis of shows they recently watched.
Considering this is the “Ultimate Edition” of a game from 2018, one would think getting rid of these obvious mistakes would be a top priority, and not require that much work on the part of the creators (since google will easily fact-check all the mistakes).
Having said all that, the vast majority of questions/answers are accurate, so you could do worse for a horror-based trivia game. Indeed, there aren’t many other options. Other reviewers seem to resent the questions’ focus on knowing the names of actors from films they haven’t seen, but I though these types of questions were well balanced with questions about character motivations, killing methods, creature lore, release dates, etc. You can’t very well complain a trivia game about the horror genre stumps you when it asks about horror you’ve not seen or read.
Overall I’m disappointed in the lack of quality control and hope that a revised edition of the game with all these minor typos, mistakes and oversights gets issued.

Challenging Horror Trivia

Reviewed in Canada on December 30, 2021

Complaints about the trivia questions being too hard are confusing – the questions on my cards cover all horror mediums. I’ve had questions on everything from Rob Zombie films to obscure sci-fi/horror authors. Trivial Pursuit is traditionally a challenging game, and these questions are no more challenging than other versions.
I do feel for the price point that the game itself could use some polish. The choice to make the board brown with runes is an interesting choice with so much horror iconography available. For the price, the pieces should be metal or properly painted plastic figurines. Otherwise we will be getting a lot of use out of the game!

Excellent Trivia Game For Horror Buffs! A little Too Much Recent Content.

Reviewed in Canada on September 1, 2021

It’s Trivial Pursuit, so just about everyone knows how to play this. Question content is excellent, except I find there are a high number of questions around recent horror TV shows etc. I haven’t memorized details from American Horror Story and others. I would have preferred either an “old” horror version or a category specifically for newer tv shows. That aside, I enjoyed the game!

Amazing!

As a horror fan, this game is incredible!
The questions are tough, even for the most seasoned fan (not just the basic Freddy, Jason etc questions)
The game pieces look awesome too!
It’s going to be the new classic around here.
