### Description

Your students will enjoy competing with one another as they practice square and cube root equations! They play in groups of 2-4 and take turns coloring in an equation square and one of the squares with the solution. Their goal is to make the largest road of connected squares!

This activity works great for differentiation, as there are three game sheets at three levels of difficulty:

•Sheet 1–Positive Integers

•Sheet 2–Positive and Negative Integers

•Sheet 3–Positive and Negative Fractions

Group students by ability level and students who need practice with squares and cubes can start with sheet #1. Students who are more advanced can start with sheets #2 and your students who need a challenge can start with #3. Each sheet has problems that are aligned to common core standard 8.EE.2.

Included in this Product:

•Three Winding Road game sheets

•Teacher Instructions

Use square root and cube root symbols to represent solutions to equations of the form 𝘹² = 𝘱 and 𝘹³ = 𝘱, where 𝘱 is a positive rational number. Evaluate square roots of small perfect squares and cube roots of small perfect cubes. Know that √2 is irrational.
